Okay, so it's been awhile since I've blogged. We've had days filled with sickness, illness, and colds. Ugh! Is winter almost finished?
A couple of weeks ago, we were able to enjoy another birthday celebration for Caroline with family in St. Louis. We were saying that she may not have had a BIG shin-dig for her first birthday, but she had 5 cakes and three times of hearing "Happy Birthday" sung to her. I think that counts for something.

Here is her dairy-free (and DELICIOUS!) birthday cake. In case you're interested
here is the recipe. Yum!

Barrett (my nephew who is 14 months) and Caroline had fun playing together. They really like putting tools into the picnic basket and taking them out. It was cute!

I just think this is a sweet picture of Ryan and Caroline.

While we were there, it was also the weekend of a bridal shower for my sister. Doesn't she look pretty in this picture?

Caroline decided that since she'd missed the fun with the ladies the day before, she would help Aunt Melanie open some gifts. She was quite curious and did a great job assisting. (She's seen so many people helping her open presents recently that she knew what to do!)
So now I think we are done with the fiestas. Having so many opportunities to honor Caroline made the transition to "one" easier for me, I think. Because I'm not sure if we'll have more children and because I do know that she won't always think I am the greatest thing in the whole wide world, I've had a harder time thinking about her growing up. I love my baby girl!
