Today I am thankful for
...the abilty to laugh instead of cry when my boys (it's rarely Caroline) misbehave/fight/wrestle in public. (Wrestling is their new pasttime. *insert eye roll*) Today as we were leaving MOPS my boys were pulling on each other, my arms were filled with my baby and casserole dishes, and I was just sort of ignoring their behavior, watching to make sure they were following me. No, not the most admirable mom moment but very real. This other mom with a baby in a stroller and a little boy who was very nicely holding her hand looked back at my boys, and I could tell she was thinking, Oh dear...or something along those lines. And I just sort of wanted to say, because it had been that kind of morning, "I used to be you."
...a yummy breakfast
...hearing Jack spell and sound out words. The boy is so strong-willed and has refused to work with me on any reading skills. It's so fun to hear him actually try to sound out words and to know that it is starting to "click."
...creamy chicken and wild rice soup on a cold night--that everyone ate! Yum and yay!
...Ryan not having any meetings tonight. It's nice that the kids got baths and were able to have a more normal routine. I'm thankful that his schedule allows him to be home nightly (except on rare occasions) to be with our family.
